Joining The Light Cavalry HAC
Those who have left Services, or are about to, and who would perhaps enjoy comradeship, Mess life, and some ceremonial soldiering could apply to join The Light Cavalry HAC.
Holders of a Royal Warrant, the Light Cavalry is the military equitation, mounted Skill at Arms, (SAA) and ceremonial cavalry sub unit of the Honourable Artillery Company (HAC). The HAC, itself is a Registered Charity with the specific purpose of supporting the HAC Regiment, the premier London TA unit, with an ancient history.
Duties in the Light Cavalry include attendance on Her Majesty the Queen, Captain General of the HAC; and also the Lady Mayoress during the year of her husband's office as Lord Mayor of the City of London. The sub unit also parades at Livery Company functions, other City of London events, and at shows throughout the country.
Membership, which is open to all ranks of any Service, is dependent on being accepted as a Member of the HAC, with its magnificent grounds and home, Armoury House, in the City of London.
If you have served, can ride, or would be willing to learn, or even undertake some dismounted duties, you should email the Adjutant of the Light Cavalry Cornet Edward Connolly, for further details.
Alternatively you can write to: The Adjutant, The Light Cavalry, HAC, Armoury House, City Road, London EC1.
